Wilma L. Gentry

Funeral services for Wilma Louise Gentry, 75, will be at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 21, in Trinity Baptist Church.

The Rev. Steve James will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

Visitation is 9 a.m.-noon in the funeral home and from 1 p.m. in the church. She died at 2:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, in Vinton.

She was a native of Monroe and a former resident of Sikes. She had lived in Lake Charles for many years. She was an Army veteran and served in Europe during World War II. She earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education from McNeese State University. She taught at F.K. White Middle School for 26 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Order of the Eastern Star and AARP. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Roxanne M. Manuel of Vinton; one son, Dean E. Miller Jr. of Naugatuck, Conn.; one sister, Cleo James of Monroe; one brother, Jack Gentry of Monroe; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
