Wilma Whitehead Hanchey
(October 15, 1914 - May 23, 2010)

Wilma Whitehead Hanchey, a native of Standard and resident of St. Francisville, died at her home Sunday, May 23, 2010. She was a retired postal clerk.

Visitation at the First Baptist Church of St. Francisville on Tuesday, May 25, from 8:30 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Joe Ratcliff. Burial in Old Bethyl Cemetery, outside of Clarks.

She is survived by three daughters, Charlene H. Brewer and her husband, Perry, Carolyn H. Pittman and her husband, Pete, and Betty Richardson, of Groves, Texas; son, Henry Glenn Hanchey; sister-in-law, Lucy H. Capbern; brother-in-law, James M. McDaniels; and seven grandchildren, Karen Richardson, Rhonda Brewer, Michelle Tanoos, Harold Pittman, Robyn Smith, H.G. Hanchey and G.H. Hanchey; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by H.L. Hanchey, the father of her children; parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.N. Whitehead; two sisters and brother.

Pallbearers will be Perry Brewer, Spencer Brewer, Pete Pittman, Harold Pittman, H.G. Hanchey, G.H. Hanchey, Tash Hanchey, Brad Smith, Braeden Smith and Parker Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the First Baptist Church of St. Francisville Building Fund, P.O. Box 1339, St. Francisville, LA 70775.
