Mrs. Winnie McCarty

LAKE PROVIDENCE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Winnie Beatrice McCarty, 69, of Houston, Tex., formerly of Lake Providence, will be at 3 p.m. today. She died Monday at a Houston hospital after a long illness.

The Rev. H. D. Stakes will officiate at Transylvania Baptist Church with burial in Forest Cemetery under direction of First National Funeral Home of Lake Providence.

Survivors include two sons, James F. McCarty of Laguna Beach, Calif. and Hulan McCarty of Houston, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Bell Gardner of Houston, Tex. and Mrs. Ozell Walker of Transylvania; two brothers, Sam Dukes of Jackson, Miss. and Claude Dukes of Transylvania; a sister, Mrs. Martha Sullivan of Transylvania; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
