Lanier Funeral Slated Sunday At Church Here
Funeral services for Capt. Wood E. Lanier Jr., 72, of Monroe, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Central Baptist Church, Monroe, with the Rev. Joe M__ officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.
Capt. Lanier died Thursday __ning in the Veterans Hospital in Alexandria following a long illness.
A retired member of the U.S. Corps of Engineers, he was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Central Baptist Church of Monroe.
He is survived by two sons, Don E. Lanier and Wood E. Lanier III, both of Monroe; three daughters, Mrs. Ray Warrenfeltz, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Rachael Stankus, Trona, Calif., and Mrs. Jan Billingsley, A__; one sister, Mrs. F[illegible] grandchildren and [illegible] great-grand[child?].
