Wordene Hawthorne

Wordene Hawthorne, 81, of Dallas, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at her home in Dallas.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 8, 2006 at the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Gorman with Rev. Jimmy Nelson officiating. Burial was in Simpson Cemetery.

Mrs. Hawthorne was born March 19, 1924 in O'Brien, Texas to the late Clint Wharton and Susie (Neils) Wharton. She was a retired claims typist with Gulf Insurance Company and a member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and one brother.

She is survived by two sons, Clint Hawthorne of Dallas and Clay Hawthorne and wife, Paula of Athens; three granddaughters, Molly Hawthorne, Amy Wright and Jennifer Wood; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

HAWTHORNE, WORDENE

Went home to our Lord January 3, 2006. She was born March 19, 1924 in O'brian, Texas. She was a member of Pleasant Terrace Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove.

She is survived by sons Clint and daughter in law Annie; and Clay and daughter in law Paula; three grandchildren Molly, Amy, and Jennifer, and four great-grandchildren Briana, Jacob, Aaliyah, and Payton.

Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Higgin Botham Funeral Home 219 W. Roberts in Gorman, Texas.

She was a genuine Christian woman and loving mother, a caring Grandmother, and a wonderful Grandma-Cookie. She was instantly loved by all who met her, and she will be greatly missed.
