EVANS
W. B., ``BARNEY'' EVANS, age 75, of Friendswood, Texas was born February 8, 1926 in Mansfield, LA and departed this life on Saturday, October 27, 2001. Barney graduated from LSU in 1954 with a B.S.E.E. Barney enjoyed a career with NASA with included Gemini, Skylab, and the Space Shuttle Program Office. After retirement, he served as Vice President of Eagle Engineering.
Barney is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Sue Lee Evans; a daughter, Jeanie Evans Joesbury and husband, David; three sons which include Jack and his wife, Faith; Steve and his wife, Nancy; and Lee and his wife, Phyllis. Barney was ``Papa'' to six grandchildren and one great-grandchild: Jack Joesbury, Jeffrey Evans, Leslie Joesbury, Amanda Evans, Michael Evans and his wife, Kristin, and their daughter, Haley, and David Joesbury. Barney is also survived by 3 sisters: Martha Bearden of Irving, Texas, Audra Allen and her husband, George, of Haynesville, LA, and Carolyn Ginn of California. Barney also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Barney will be on October 29, 2001 at 2 P.M. at the Friendswood United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles Anderson officiating. Graveside service will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery on the Gulf Freeway in Webster.
The family requests that in lieu flowers,donations be made to the F. U. M. C. Pipe Organ Fund at 204 W. Edgewood, Friendswood, Texas 77546.
