Yvonne Raye Ferguson, 60, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on January 6, 1957 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James Louis and Marilyn Yvonne (Koonce) Hemphill. She grew up in the parish of St. Ann's and was a proud graduate of Broken Arrow, class of '75. She began her working at Paine Webber, where she met James Connie Ferguson. They were married in 1980 and transferred to California.

Yvonne was the proud mother of two boys, Cameron and Connor. They returned to Oklahoma on February 14, 1994. She graduated from OU in 1997 with a Bachelors of Business Administration, then went on to receive two masters from Oklahoma City University: MBA in 2002 and MHA in 2003. The degrees reflected her signature tireless work ethic, which she went on to employ as a broker in the Health Insurance Industry.

Yvonne was an active member of St. Mark's since 2014, previously a parishioner of St. Joseph's. She was a devoted Mimi to her grandson Elliott and adored her two cats, Meeko and Mitt. She treasured cooking, sewing elaborate costumes for her children, and was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. A true lover of music, Yvonne was a standout saxophonist in the BA Pride, as well as a gifted violin, and guitar player, and passed her passion on to two musician sons and a grandson whose fondest song is by one of her favorites, Deep Purple. Yvonne will be remembered as a true servant to her family and friends, a devoted parent, grandparent, sister and daughter.

She was preceded in death by James Connie Ferguson; father, James Louis Hemphill, step-father, Guy Lon Koonce; father-in-law, George Connie Ferguson and mother-in-law, Nancy Kiturah Ferguson and sister-in-law, Carolyn Gay (Johnson) Ferguson.

Survivors include her sons, James Cameron Ferguson and Crystal Warren of Oklahoma City, OK and Jason Connor Ferguson of Starkville, MS; grandson, Elliott Rhys Ferguson of Oklahoma City, OK; siblings, James Louis Hemphill, Jr. and wife, Judy of Norman, OK, Michael Christopher Hemphill of Norman, OK, Jeffrey David Hemphill of Norman, OK, Angela Dawn Dunn and husband, Steven Jay of Broken Arrow, OK; nieces and nephews, Laura Robinson and husband, Bobby, James Hemphill and wife, Joy, Sean Hemphill, Brett Hemphill, Brooke Madden and husband, Kristopher, Katie Dunn, JC Dunn, Blake Dunn, Cole Dunn, Nicole Wolf and husband Patrick, Douglas Griffin and wife, Cristi, Camille Armitage-Jaques; 8 great nieces and nephews; loving feline companions, Meeko and Mitt. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A Prayer Service will be held the evening of Tuesday, August 8, 2017, 7pm at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church Norman, OK with Memorial Mass on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, 10am at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church Norman, OK with inurnment to follow at Sunnylane Cemetery Del City, OK. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service and Cremation Care Center.
