Mrs. A. B. Krohn Dies at Wiggins

Wiggins, June 24 -- Death claimed one of Wiggins' outstanding citizens when Mrs. Zannie [sic Zaney] Williams Krohn, 76, passed away Monday evening at 6 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Miss Letha Krohn. She was the widow of the late A. B. Krohn who died here in 1925.

Funeral services will be conducted at 5 o'clock at the residence of Miss Krohn with the Rev. J. A. Davis officiating, assisted by Rev. N. J. Lee and Rev. P. O. Nix. Interment will follow in the Wiggins cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandsons.

She is survived by five sons, L. A. Krohn, Wiggins; R. M. Krohn, Longview, Washington; H. J. Krohn, Santa Barbara, Cal.; H. R. Krohn, Gulfport; J. E. Krohn, Wasco, Cal.; four daughters, Mrs. Allie Jones, Mrs. Peter Willemoes, Jr., and Miss Letha Krohn, Wiggins, and Mrs. William Martin, Ramsay Springs; 26 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Krohn, the daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. John Williams, was born in Smith county. She moved to the Coast in 1870 with her father, who was one of the pioneer Baptist ministers of the Coast section. She was married in 1886 to A. B. Krohn and moved immediately to Wiggins where she has resided ever since. Mrs. Krohn was always interested in civic affairs, and she was known and loved for her sympathetic understanding and her keen mind.
