DOUCET, MRS. LASTIE W. (nee Zella Elloitt [sic Elliott])

Died 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Opelousas General Hospital. She was 74, a native of Doddson [sic Dodson] and a resident of of Grand Prairie. Body at Lafond & Son Funeral Home, Opelousas, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday. Funeral 3 p.m. Thursday at Louisiana Memorial United Methodist Church, Opelousas. Burial in Bellevue Memorial Park, Opelousas.

Survivors include her husband, Lastie W. Doucet, Grand Prairie, a son, John Robert (Bob) Doucet, Baton Rouge; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Edwards, Ruston; Mrs. Edward Lawson, Norphlat, Ark., and Mrs. Genive Carr, Alexandria; and two grandchildren.

She was known as “Miss Elliott,” was a retired teacher and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
