Mrs. Zilla Bain Dies Sunday in Local Hospital

Mrs. Zilla Bain, 73, wife of J. L. Bain of Cotton Gin, and lifetime resident of this general vicinity, died in a local hospital Sunday afternoon after an illness of six weeks.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bain is survived by three children, Jim Bain, Silver Peak, Nevada; Tolbert Bain and Mrs. Julia Tolson, Mexia; six grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. T. S. Turner, Vallejo, California; Prof. Frank E. Burkhalter and Miss Ina Burkhalter, Waco; Miss Vera Burkhalter, San Antonio, and J. C. Burkhalter, Amarillo.

The funeral was conducted from the Cotton Gin church at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, with Rev. E. E. Rogers in charge, followed by interment in the family plot in the Cotton Gin cemetery. Pall bearers were Joe Hearon, Joe Patton, Oscar Patton, Jim Aldarman, Jim Boyd and E. Williford.
