MISS SYBLE AUSTIN IS WED TO WILLIS WIRTH
A marriage claiming the interest of a wide circle of friends was that of Miss Syble Austin to Mr. Willis Wirth which was solemnized on Saturday morning, August 1, in the home of Miss Vallie Nelson, in the presence of a few friends.
The impressive ring ceremony was read by Dr. W. E. B. Lockridge, before an improvised altar of fern and pink rose buds.
Pre-nuptial music was rendered by Miss Joyce Colvin singing, “Because”, and Miss Annie Kathryne Gunn in a flute arrangement of “Call Me Thine Own”. Schubert's “Ava Maria”, was played by Miss Nelson and Miss Gunn during the ceremony.
Miss Austin is the beautiful daughter of Mrs. Wallace Green of Kilbourne, Louisiana. She was an honor member of the summer graduating class at Tech and a member of the Delta Chi Delta sorority. Her charm and graciousness won many friends for her during her college career.
Mr. Wirth is connected with the health department of the Army camps of Louisiana under the Mosquito control project. He is a graduate of Iowa State college and was a biology instructor at Tech during the 1940-41 school year.
The young couple left immediately following the ceremony for a short trip and a visit to his parents' home in Nebraska, after which they will be located in Alexandria, La.
