Higdon -- Baker

Amy Marie Baker and Benjamin Justin Higdon exchanged marriage vows Nov. 1, 2008, at the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, La. Tommy Inman officiated the ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Steve Baker of West Monroe, La. Grandparents of the bride are the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ellis Baker, Mrs. Sammie Martin and the late Mr. Conny Guy Martin, all of West Monroe.

Parents of the groom are Ms. Jackie Ford of Monroe and Mr. Donald Higdon, also of Monroe. Grandparents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Tracy Higdon of Delhi, La, and the late Mrs. Ruby Jean Higdon and Mrs. Thomas Jackson Ford and the late Thomas Jackson Ford of Columbus, Miss.

The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a natural silk shantung gown designed by Angelina Faccenda.

Holley Watts served as maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Jessica Baker, Annie Epperson, Staci Burns, and Heather Huffman. Sarah Grace Holmes served as the flower girl. Program and guest book attendants were Annie Holmes, and Graycen Wiltshire.

Paul Coplen served as best man. Groomsmen were Donald Higdon, Duke Luffey, Adam Cossey, and Jon Duff. Matthew Phillips served as the ring bearer. Ushers were Andrew Ford and Christopher Johnson.

Music for the ceremony was provided by pianist, Benji Buffington and soloist, Naomi Carroll. The scripture was read by Mary Ann Norman.

The wedding reception was held at Calvert Crossing Golf Club. Entertainment was provided by Johnny O'Neal.

Amy is a graduate of West Monroe High School and the University of Louisiana at Monroe, with a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene. While at ULM, Amy was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She is employed as a dental hygienist by Dr. Chris Owens and Dr. Tessa Madere in West Monroe.

Justin is a graduate of Ouachita Christian School and the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a bachelor's degree in history. While at ULM, Justin was a member of Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. He is employed by Ouachita Independent Bank.

Following their honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple will make their home in Calhoun, La.
