McCarty, Baumgartner

MERIDIAN -- Margaret Amelie Baumgartner of Abita Springs, La. and Brent Van McCarty of Meridian were married Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at St. Joseph's Abbey in Covington, La., with the Rev. Father Patrick Wattigny officiating.

Parents of the couple are Robert and Adrianne Baumgartner of Abita Springs and Van and Robin McCarty of Meridian.

Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Smitty Landry of New Iberia, La., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Purcell Baumgartner of New Orleans, La.

Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mrs. Pauline Busbee and the late the Rev. Westley Busbee of Meridian, and the late Mr. and Mrs. F.R. McCarty of Bay Springs.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Brother Benedict Robert on the Abbey pipe organ with the vocal accompaniment of Ms. Anne Simpson.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor was Katie Rose Norman of Abita Springs.

Other attendants were Ashley LeBlanc of Mandeville, La., Julia Stewart of Fairhope, Ala., Jessica Hoffpauir of Baton Rouge, La., Christina Hale of Mobile, Ala., and Rebecca McCarty of Meridian.

Alix Basden, Sophie Basden, Anne Louise Hill, Juliana Hill, Mary Elizabeth Hill, Audrey Kraemer and Catherine Landry were the flower girls.

Peter Davidson of Meridian was best man.

Groomsmen and ushers were Brad Yakots of Atlanta, Ga., Russell Turley of Mountain Brook, Ala., Sam Baumgartner, Will Baumgartner and Luke Baumgartner, all of Abita Springs, and Michael Busbee of Meridian.

Peter Basden of and Walker Landry-Seward were ring bearers.

Readers were Jeannine Bradley, Philip Busbee, and Kent Busbee Jr.

Gift bearers were Helen Landry and Richard Baumgartner.

Eucharistic minister was Leah Baumgartner. Altar servers were Pierce and Thomas Hill.

A reception was held at The Vintage Court in Covington following the ceremony.

After a honeymoon in St. Maarten, the couple resides in Jackson, where Brent is completing his last year of medical school at University of Mississippi Medical Center and Maggie works as a regional property manager for Parkway Properties Inc.
