BREEDLOVE TRIAL TO START MONDAY

RUSTON, La., March 29. --(Special)-- With the selection of a petit jury from a venire of 30 names here Monday morning, the trial of John W. Breedlove, 22, charged with the murder of his brother-in-law, Hal Posey, 48, city policeman, will get under way.

The jury panel includes the following 30 men: Elmer Harrell, J. M. Fielder, O. H. Hammons, W. C. Hood, Gilbert Hood, Edwin Holley, W. R. Shepherd, V. J. Gordon, J. W. Vernon, E. S. Leggett, O. H. Land, Emmett H. Wright, Ted Andrews, Elton Frasier, Ben Mobley, B. F. Shelby, M. D. Hogan, T. O. Norris, C. F. Brewster, Sam B. White, Carl Streeter, J. L. Hood, W. S. Moore, Jr., I. E. Garrett, J. L. Mathewes, J. C. Henry, E. V. Kiper, J. S. Beck, S. H. WIlliams, J. C. Lewis.

Breedlove was indicted by the grand jury for the alleged fatal shooting of Policeman Posey on November 24, when the officer, accompanied by Policeman Ed Neal, went to the house where Breedlove resided here to investigate a disturbance reported by neighbors.

District Attorney Truett L. Scarborough has summoned 10 state witnesses and Defense Counsel C. E. Barham has subpoenaed seven, the clerk's office reported here.

Breedlove was returned to parish jail several days ago from the Ruston-Lincoln sanitarium, where he had been taken temporarily after Coroner J. J. Bennet observed inflammation had developed around an arm wound received in an exchange of gunfire with Posey.
