Whitfield J. Collins, Bride On Jamaica Honeymoon Trip
Mr. and Mrs. Whitfield James Collins are on a wedding trip to Jamaica following their marriage Tuesday evening.
The bride is the former Miss Beth Cooper Albert, daughter of H. W. Cooper, Arlington. She resided with her uncle and aunt, Dr. and Mrs. O. R. Grogan, Fort Worth.
Mr. Collins, of Fort Worth and formerly of Dallas, is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Collins of Dallas. He is the grandson of H. W. James, 3604 Lexington.
Dr. H. Guy Moore of Broadway Baptist Church, and the Rev. James P. DeWolfe Jr., All Saints Episcopal Church, both of Fort Worth, were officiants for the ceremony in the Grogan home.
The bride wore a gown of multi-colored tulle over blue satin, with a bodice of corded Alencon lace with metallic thread. Her headpiece of matching tulle held a small illusion circular veil.
Mrs. R. M. Bowen Jr. of Breckenridge was her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaid was Mrs. Thomas H. Law of Fort Worth.
Jasper Collins, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Mr. Law, Fort Worth, was groomsman.
R. M. Bowen Jr., Breckenridge; Cmdr. Tom B. Martin Jr., Albuquerque, N.M.; E. W. Bissett, Roswell, N.M., and Paul C. Cook of Fort Worth ushered.
A reception in the garden of the Grogan home followed the ceremony. Mrs. Martin served the wedding cake.
The newlyweds will return to Fort Worth to make their home.
She is a graduate of the University of Texas, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She did graduate work at Texas Christian University.
She is a member of the Barnaby Club, the Fort Worth Woman's Club, the Fort Worth Opera Guild and the TCU Faculty Women's Club. She is a provisional member of the Junior League.
Mr. Collins is a graduate of Kemper Military School and the University of Texas. He holds a law degree from Harvard Law School.
He is a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, Phi Delta Phi and Chancellors, legal fraternities. He is also a member of Ridotto Club.
