Miss Amy Corley Wed to the Rev. Joseph Johnson

This morning at half past nine o'clock Miss Amy Estelle Corley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Corley of Pineville, and the Rev. Joseph Silas Johnson, son of Mrs. Florence Wilkins Johnson of Gilbert, Louisiana, were married in the midst of beauty by the Rev. G. Kearnie Keegan. Close relatives and intimate friends witnessed the ceremony that was solemnized in a chapel space arranged for the event in Emmanuel Baptist Church. This was effectively decorated with southern smilax vine, stately palms, and blooming cyclamen plants of various colors.

The Rev. S. M. Mulkey played the wedding music, that included accompaniments to the pre-nuptial numbers, ``I Love You Truly,'' sung by Mr. Troxel Stevens of Shreveport, and ``The Sweetest Story Ever Told,'' given by Miss Jean Doyle, and the marches ``The Bridal Chorus'' from Rosengren for entrance and Mendelsohn's march for exit.

The bride, given away by her father, wore a stylish powder blue crepe gown with rhinestone ornaments, black accessories and a corsage of red rosebuds. Miss Carol Brakefield was maid of honor, Fielding Cassel was best man and the ushers were the bride's brother, Robert Corley, Jr., and James Owen. Miss Brakefield word a lovely navy blue costume and a corsage of yellow rosebuds.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson have gone on a wedding trip, following which they will be at home in Gilbert, where the Rev. Mr. Johnson is pastor of the Baptist Church. He and his bride are academic graduates of Louisiana College, where he also took his theological course.
