Smith-Corley Nuptials Are Revealed Here

Miscellaneous Shower Given For Bride Thursday Evening

Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Corley announce the marriage of their daughter, Thera, to Marvin Hebert Smith on June 6. The wedding occurred in Beaumont, with Rev. Blackwell, of the First Methodist church, south, officiating.

Mrs. Smith is a graduate nurse of the Southern Baptist hospital in New Orleans, La. Mr. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin F. Smith of 1715 Procter street, and is with the Texas Company here. He and his bride are at home at 423 Charleston avenue.

As a post-nuptial compliment for Mrs. Smith, Mrs. I. T. Corley entertained with a miscellaneous shower at her home on 16th street Thursday. Games afforded diversions and refreshments were served after the gifts were presented the honoree. Attending were Mesdames A. S. Johnson, Ovie Hinson, O. I. Baker, Marvin Smith, Cecil Lippincoil, N. R. McDougal, W. E. Matthews, M. N. Dell, E. T. Corley, W. P. Lee and J. P. Darby: and Misses Floy Davis, Louise Johnson, Mabel Smith, Essie Mae Swain, Iris Swain, Melba Corley and Mavia Cahal. Gifts were also received from Mr. and Mrs. J. Boresma [sic Boersma] and Mrs. George Boersma.
