Reta Lou Hanes, Weldon Cooper Marry In Roscoe Home Ceremony

ROSCOE, July 30 -- In front of a fireplace decorated with fan shaped arrangements of white gladioli and asters and white floor candelabra Reta Lou Hanes became the bride of Weldon Herbert Cooper July 25 in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Hanes, Roscoe.

The Rev. John Price read the double ring service. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Cooper of Roscoe.

Best man was Clarence Althof and matron of honor was Mrs. Woodrow Kidd. Mrs. Althof was bridesmaid and Dayton Althof was ringbearer. Linda Hanes of Sweetwater was flower girl and ushers were John Hanes of Pensacola, Fla. and Grover M. Hanes of Sweetwater.

Sue French was organist and Reba Taylor sang ``Because,'' ``Dawning,'' and ``The Lord's Prayer.''

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a dress of tulle and lace over satin. Strapless bodice of lace was topped with a waist length jacket of tulle. A wide laced panel extended down the front of the skirt, which was ballerina length. She wore a waist length veil of imported silk illusion caught to a half hat of satin and tulle embroidered in seed pearls.

Reception table was centered with white candles banked with green and white asters. On the buffet was a fan shaped arrangement of white and blue asters.

For a wedding trip to Colorado, the bride wore a light blue linen suit with dark blue accessories. They will live on a farm south of Roscoe after Aug. 1.

The bride was graduated from Roscoe High School and attended McMurry College three years. The bridegroom was graduated from Highland School and attended Tyler Commercial College. He was in the armed services two years.
