Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Lisman Harrington of London, England, announce the marriage of his sister, Elsie Lietch Harrington to John O'Neilly Bomer Jr. of Memphis.
Parents of the bride were the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harrington of Brookhaven, Miss. The bridegroom's parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. John O'Neill Bomer Sr. of Brownsville, Tenn.
The wedding was solemnized at the home of Col. and Mrs. Russell G. White of San Antonio, Tex. Officiating at the ceremony was the Rev. Paul R. King. Mrs. John C. Williams Jr. presented the music and Annie Williams, cousin of the bride, was soloist.
The bride, given in marriage by her cousin, Percy F. Williams, wore a wedding gown of white satin, featuring an empire waistline, long sleeves and a wedding band collar. The full skirt ended in a cathedral-length train and her fingertip veil of illusion was attached to a cap of satin petals edged with seed pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of yellow Texas roses accented with a white orchid.
Mrs. Russell G. White, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a dress of rose satin and carried a bouquet of autumn flowers.
Barbara and Nancy White, daughters of Col. and Mrs. White, were junior bridesmaids. They wore dresses of yellow and green satin and they carried bouquets of autumn flowers.
Col. Russell G. White served as best man. Ushers were Robert F. Williams, cousin of the bride, and James W. WHite.
Following the ceremony, Col. and Mrs. White entertained at a reception at the Officer's Club at Randolph Air Force Base.
For the wedding trip to Mexico, the bride wore a yellow suit and the orchid from her wedding bouqet. After the trip, the couple will be at home in Meridian and in Memphis.
Grandparents of the bride were the late Professor and Mrs. James Bailey Williams of Lincoln County, Miss. and Col. and Mrs. Pickney Coatesworth Harrington of Magnolia Place, Franklin County. Her great grandparents were the late Gen. and Mrs. Harrington of Franklin County.
Grandparents of the groom were the late Mr. and Mrs. Cherry and Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Bomer, all of Haywood County, Tenn.
The bride is a graduate of Brookhaven High School and Whitworth College in Brookhaven. She continued her education in the graduate school of the University of Georgia.
The groom is a graduate of Vanderbilt University in Nashville and a graduate of the Columbia University Law School.
