Mr. And Mrs. A. T. Black Celebrate Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Black of Jonesboro celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary at their home in Jonesboro, January 6.
At noon Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hargrove, Jr., youngest daughter of the couple, were hosts to members of the family at their home for a buffet luncheon. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Black, Grady Black, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Black and sons, Donald and Guy, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hood and daughters; Betty and Patty of Jonesboro, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Black, Silsbee, Tex.; Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Griffith, Chatham; Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Birdwell, Shreveport, and Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hargrove, Jr., Jimmie and Cheryl. Many friends and relatives called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Black, between the hours of 2 and 5 o'clock. Receiving with Mr. and Mrs. Black were their four daughters, Mrs. C. R. Griffith, Mrs. J. N. Birdwell, Mrs. Clarence Hood and Mrs. E. L. Hargrove, Jr.
Baskets of yellow and gold chrysanthemums decorated the living room and on the coffee table were early spring blossoms of flowering spirea and pansies.
The reception table was covered with white cut work linen cloth and was centered with an arrangement of yellow and gold chrysanthemums and gold tapers. The three tiered wedding cake was embossed with gold rosebuds on white. Dainty gold wedding band on top of cake was suspended with “50” indicating the anniversary.
Alternating in the serving courtesies were Mrs. Cecil Rachel and Miss Patty Hood, grandaughters of the couple and Mrs. W. D. Higginbotham.
