Bride Wears Beads of Mother's Wedding

TAFT - ... a string of rose beads, 32 years old, worn by the bride's mother at her own wedding was the ornament worn by Miss Evelyn May Kuntz when she was united in marriage to Jesse Eugene Krohn Sunday afternoon at the Methodist parsonage. Rev. H. V. Lewis, pastor of the Methodist church officiated.

The beads have a curious history and are greatly valued by their owner. When the father of Mrs. Kuntz ... passed away, some of the flowers used at the funeral were saved as keepsakes. The roses were laid away for 22 years until Mrs. Kuntz, then a girl, was about to be married. The petals from the flowers were then made into rose beads and worn by the bride of 32 years ago.

The rose leaves were old and dried out when the beads were made but the ornament still retains the faint fragrance of roses.
