OPELOUSAS -- Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, Miss Sandra Lemoine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Lemoine, became the bride of Mr. John Leo Soileau Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Soileau Sr.
The Rev. James Doiron officiated at the double-ring ceremony at St. Landry Catholic Church.
The bride's attendants were Miss Janice Harmon, maid of honor; Miss Darlene Pepitone of New Orleans and Mrs. James Briley of Houston, bridesmaids, and Jamie Lynn Briley of Houston, flower girl.
Mr. Soileau's attendants were Messrs. Wayne Guillory, best man, Harry Hawkins and Donald Lemoine, groomsmen. The ushers were Messrs. James Briley of Houston and Harold LeBoeuf.
Attend USL
The wedding is of much interest here where the Lemoine and Soileau families are prominently known. The bride and groom are graduates of Opelousas High School. She completed a two year secretarial course at the University of Soutwestern Louisiana. Mr. Soileau will receive his degree in August from USL.
Miss Lemoine selected a pink and white theme for her wedding. Mr. Lemoine gave his daughter in marriage. She wore a gown of white chantilly lace and silk organza over taffeta, styled in princess lines. The dress was made with a round neckline and three-quarter-length sleeves and a chapel train. Her shoulder-length veil was held to a crown of silk organza roses accented with seed pearls, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses centered with a white orchid.
The flower girl wore a dress identical to the bride's, except that the skirt had some fullness. She carried a basket filled with pink rose petals.
Pink Gowns
The bride's attendants were gowned in floor-length pink peau de soie dresses, the bodices covered with chantilly lace. The dresses had round necklines, short sleeves and bell skirts. Their headpieces were clusters of pink peau de soie roses on lace, and each carried a bouquet of roses shading from pink to brilliant red.
The wedding reception was given by Mr. and Mrs. Lemoine at the Inn. Mrs. Lemoine wore a kelly green silk dress, matching lace duster and beige accessories. Mrs. Soileau selected a pink crepe dress, white lace duster, a pink hat and white accessories. Both mothers wore lavender orchid corsages.
