PERSONAL AND OTHERWISE

Miss Minnie Meredith of Columbia and Mr. J. R. Hawkins of Blankston, were quietly married at the home of Judge Wears last Wednesday evening. Rev. G. M. Alford, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. The bride is one of Columbia's most attractive young ladies and numbers her friends by her acquaintances. The groom is one of Caldwell's promising young business men of sterling worth and worthy of his bride. Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins left on the 10:30 north bound I. M. for Blankston where they will make their home at which place Mr. Hawkins holds a position, as bookkeeper, for the Hopewell Planting Co. To this happy young couple, The Watchman extends congratulations and wish them a long and happy married life.
