Sara Ann Moon Becomes Bride of C. B. Foster

First Methodist Church, Altus, was the setting for the wedding of Miss Sara Ann Moon and Charles Barker Foster. Rev. LeRoy Massengale and Rev. Kenneth Gosselin read the vows before a background of pink calla lillies, greenery, and pink tapers.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Moon, Altus. Mr. Foster is the son of Mrs. Claude Franklin Foster, 1118 NW 16, and the late Mr. Foster.

Mrs. Al Hubbard, organist, played a program of traditional nuptial music. She also accompanied Mrs. J. S. Haslam as she sang “Through the Years,” and Loren Blevins who sang “If I Could Tell You” and “The Lord's Prayer.”

Mr. Moon gave his daughter in marriage. For her wedding she chose a dress of white satin fashioned with a stand-up collar and long pointed sleeves. Her full skirt, which was worn over a hoop, swept into a demi-train. The bride wore a diamond choker belonging to the bridegroom's maternal grandmother, the late Mrs. Charles F. Peoples. She wore a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis centered with a white orchid.

Tackett, 2409 N Drexel, and Miss Betty Smythe, 1713 Drakestone, cousin of the bridegroom. Miss Louise Foster, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl.

THE ATTENDANTS wore identical dresses of aqua faille in a ballerina length. The bodices had scoop necklines and the bouffant skirts were worn over hoops. They had brief nose veils and carried bouquets of pink calla lillies tied with pink satin.

Dr. C. F. Foster jr., 1611 SW 42, served his brother as best man. Ushers were Carl P. Smythe, cousin of the bridgegroom: Edward B. McRee, 1309 1/2 N Indiana; David M. Parker jr., Hooker; John H. Brandt, 2323 N Indiana, and Mr. Tackett.

FOR HER DAUGHTER'S wedding Mrs. Moon selected a cocoa brown wool jersey dress with pale blue accessories. Her corsage was of blue gardenias. Mrs. Foster was attired in a navy taffeta frock with pink accessories and her flowers were pink gardenias.

The reception was held in the church parlors. Assisting were Mrs. J. J. Chambless, Mrs. Smythe, Miss Lavonna Mayhugh, Mrs. McRee, Mrs. Robert W. Ferrin, Mrs. Charles Wininger, Mrs. Tony Watson and Mrs. Blanche Campbell.

After returning from a wedding trip to Wichita Falls, Texas, they established a home at 1517 NW 24. For traveling the bride wore a brown suit with olive green lizard shoes and bag, and matching green hat and gloves. Her corsage was a white orchid.
