Dr. Andrew McCarty Werner

Dr. Christina Marie Notarianni and Dr. Andrew McCarty Werner, both of Shreveport, Louisiana, were married in the presence of their families and close friends on Saturday, October 25, 2008, on Captiva Island, Florida. The Reverend Paul Leinhardt Rasmussen, Pastor of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, officiated at the beachside ceremony.

Dr. Notarianni is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert George Notarianni of Birmingham, Alabama. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas Luther Good, Jr. of Bedford, Virginia and the late Mr. Good and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Notarianni of Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Werner is the son of Dr. and Mrs. David John Werner of Shreveport, Louisiana. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ward Tillman Jones of Alexandria, Louisiana and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Crowell Werner of Tyler, Texas.

Dr. Notarianni wore a Monique Lhuillier ivory Chantilly lace sheath gown with a square neckline and keyhole open back. She carried a bouquet of roses, hydrangeas and cymbidium orchids. Dinner and dancing followed the ceremony at the South Seas Island Resort.

Dr. Notarianni graduated as valedictorian from Ecole Classique in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1995 and from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with a degree in Biochemistry in 1999. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport in 2003 and is currently chief resident in the Department of Neurosurgery at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. In July 2009, she will be begin a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship and plans to return to practice in Shreveport.

Dr. Werner graduated from Southfield School in Shreveport in 1985 and Duke University, where he received a degree in Economics in 1989. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans in 1995. Dr. Werner completed a general surgery residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia in 2001. He trained as a fellow in Colon and Rectal surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and in Coloproctology at the St. Marks Hospital in London, England. Dr. Werner is a partner with Colon and Rectal Associates in Shreveport, Louisiana.

After their honeymoon in Mexico, the couple returned to reside in Shreveport. On Saturday, November 29, 2008, Dr. and Mrs. David Werner held a reception in their honor at home.
