Miss Mabel Pratt Marries Joseph Harris

CENTREVILLE -- Miss Mabel Clements Pratt was united in marriage at Shoultz [sic Schultz] Creek Baptist Church to Joseph Harris of Birmingham on Saturday evening, June 30 with the Rev. Hurbert Williams officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Clements Pratt of West Blocton and Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Joseph Harris of Moulton.

Mrs. Dale Barkalow of Centreville, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Other attendants were Miss Dorinda Duggan of Andelusia, Mrs. Gene Goree of Seymour, Inc., and Mrs. Sol H. Tepper Jr. of Selma. Miss Helen Nix and Miss Mary Nix of Centreville were junior bridesmaids.

They wore green sheath dresses of faille taffeta with matching headpieces and carried bouquets of daisies. Miss Michael Dawn Barkalow, the bride's niece, was flower girl and Christopher Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Harris of Centreville, was ring bearer.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her white gown of silk organza was appliqued with Alencon lace extending into a chapel train. The sabrina neckline was also fashioned of alencon lace. Her veil of illusion was caught to a crown of lace and pearls. She carried a cascade of roses and cymbidiums.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held on the lawn of the bride's home.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg and Fontana Village, N.C. the couple will reside in Birmingham.
