Ayers/Ripley

Mr. and Mrs. Craig Montfort Ripley announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Susan Montfort Ripley, to Mr. Joshua David Ayers, son of Dr. Gary Ray Ayers of Cartersville, Ga., and stepson and son of Mr. and Mrs. John Francis McGovern of Atlanta, Ga.

The wedding will be solemnized in late June at Trinity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Michael Kuhn officiating. A reception will follow at Antoine's Restaurant.

The bride-elect, whose mother is the former Miss Louise Elizabeth Sherrard of Rock Island, Ill., graduated from Isidore Newman School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science, with a major in Fashion Merchandising, from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She is employed by M. Myers Investment Co. in Dallas, Texas. As a sub-deb, Miss Ripley was a lady-in-waiting in The Dorians and Mystery Balls and a maid In The Courts Of Squires And Harlequins. As a debutante, she was presented by Le Debut Des Jeunes Filles De La Nouvelle Orleans and The Bachelors' Club and was a maid in The Courts of Dorians, Mystery and Proteus. She is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin Guy Sherrard of Rock Island and the late Mr. and Mrs. Neil Newton Ripley.

Mr. Ayers, whose Mother is the former Miss Alva Wilhelmina Sanders of Atlanta, graduated from The McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn., and received Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Economics and Philosophy from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He will pursue a Master's Degree in Business Administration at the Darden Graduate School of the University of Virginia in the fall. He is employed by Corriente Partners Lp, a hedge fund in Dallas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Cornelius Wilkie Ayers and the late Mr. Ayers of Cartersville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Sanders of Atlanta.

Following a wedding trip to Antigua, the couple will reside in Charlottesville, Va.
