Engagement Of Miss Rolen And Mr. Gay Is Of Note

The engagement of Miss Jessie Mae Rolen and Eugene Jackson Gay, announced this morning, is of cordial interest.

The wedding will take place in the late summer and will be an event of note.

Miss Rolen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Zack Rolen. She received her preparatory education in the schools of Montgomery graduating from Lanier High School. She received Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama. At the University she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and was outstanding in campus and student interests.

Mr. Gay is the son of Mrs. John F. Gay and the late Mr. Gay and is of the prominent Gay and Teague families. He graduated from Starke University School and received degree at the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Both Miss Rolen and Mr. Gay are of families long outstanding in Alabama and the South. Paternally she is of Rolen and Curry families and through her mother, Miss Rolen is of Frazier, Dickson, Goss and Wright families of Alabama and Georgia. Miss Rolen is a member of the College Club, belongs to other clubs with personnel of her contemporaries and is widely popular.

Mr. Gay, who received honorable discharge from the U. S. Navy, now resides in Hollywood, Fla., where he holds a government position.--Montgomery Advertiser.
