The wedding of Miss Maurine Satcher and Corp. R. O. Hawkins was quietly solemnized in Hollis the evening of November 6. J. W. Webb, minister of the Hollis Church of Christ, read the vows in his home.

The bride, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Satcher, Hollis, is deputy clerk in the office of the county court clerk. She is a graduate of Hollis high school. Her marriage to Corporal Hawkins unites two pioneer families of the county.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Hawkins, Hollis, attended Hollis schools. He enlisted in the army several months ago, having been stationed first at Fort Warren, Wyo., and later transferred to Perrin field, Sherman, Texas, from where he went to his post in Kansas.

For her wedding, Mrs. Hawkins wore a navy suit and a corsage of pink roses. Miss Grace Trammel, Hollis, was her only attendant.

The couple left immediately after the ceremony for a wedding trip to Texas and Oklahoma points.

Corporal Hawkins is on a 15-day leave from his station, to which he will return, following the honeymoon trip. Mrs. Hawkins will resume her duties in Hollis for the present.
