Debra Arlene Sweeney Weds James Emmons in Home Rite
Debra Arlene Sweeney became the bride of James Roy Emmons in rites solemnized in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe L. Sweeney, 200 Jerry drive, in Nederland. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Travis Emmons, Sr. of 5145 Eighth street. The Rev. Don Hendricks, pastor of the Southside Baptist church, officiated. Arrangements of white flowers trimmed with yellow ribbon were featured in the decorations.
The bride wore a street-length white crepe gown fashioned with lace bell sleeves and a bow-accented neckline. A pill box ring that covered with scalloped fabric held her brief veil of illusion and she carried a bouquet of white butterfly orchids on a white Bible.
Mrs. Sweeney attended her daughter as matron of honor wearing a two-piece suit of crepe with scallops around the jacket. Her headpiece was a pill box hat of matching fabric and she carried white carnations.
Mr. Emmons attended his son as best man.
The reception was held following the ceremony. The table was draped with a white net over yellow cloth with the corners decorated with single yellow roses. An arrangement of yellow spring flowers centered the table. Mrs. Ronald Ducote served the three-tiered wedding cake and Mrs. Lyle Sweeney presided at the punch bowl.
The couple will make their home in Fort Worth.
