Turner-Matthews

Miss Carol Emmons Turner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram C. Pyburn of Ruston, and a former resident of this city, was honored with a prenuptial buffet dinner in the home of Mrs. William D. Fitch in College Station, Texas, on Saturday, May 22, at 8 p.m. Hosting the party with Mrs. Fitch was Miss Vicki Anders.

MIss Turner is the bride-elect of Warren Thomas Mathews. They will be wed on Saturday, June 19 in the First Baptist Church of Ruston.

Various arrangements of garden flowers were used throughout the house, highlighted with a cascade of candles in the living room. Centering the buffet was an arrangement of garden flowers in a champagne stemmed crystal vase surrounded with votive lights.

For the evening the bride-elect wore a summer knit featuring white long sleeved peasant bodice with a patterned skirt of pink and navy. Her hostesses presented her with a corsage of peppermint carnations.

Guests for the evening included Miss Turner's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hiram C. Pyburn, and the professional members of the library faculty at Texas A&M University. Miss Turner is a member of the library faculty.
