DOUBLE WEDDING CEREMONY TAKES PLACE IN LAKE PROVIDENCE HOME
On Saturday, Sept. 10, at 9:30 in the morning, two daughters of Mrs. Harry John White, and the late Mr. White, were united in marriage, in a ceremony at the home of the brides' mother. The Rev. C. A. Martin, pastor of the Lake Providence Baptist Church officiated.
Marking the area for the exchange of vows, which took place before double windows of the living room, were floor baskets filled with pink roses and cannas.
Miss Zola White became the bride of Mr. John William Schonfarber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Schonfarber. Her one piece frock was of dove colored crepe with a V-neckline. Self-covered buttons extended from the bodice neckline into the pleats of the skirt. Her shoulder corsage was of lilies.
Miss Josephine White, in becoming the bride of James Leroy Wilks, son of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Wilks of Harrisonburg, La., was gowned in a black crepe dress with a bodice embroidered in beads and sequins. The fullness of the skirt draped into curved pockets at both sides of the belt. A band of velvet at the throat was worn with an antique brooch of rhinestones and sapphires. Her shoulder corsage was of Guernsey lilies.
Brothers of the brides' Mr. Owen White, and Mr. Fred White, and their wives were the attendants. Mrs. Owen White wore a tan linen frock, and Mrs. Fred White a two-piece suit of brown and white seersucker, with pearl button trim.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony an informal reception was held. The refreshment table was overlaid with an ecru lace cloth, and bore twin wedding cakes and coffee.
Mr. and Mrs. Schonfarber left on a motor wedding trip to Covington, Mandeville and New Orleans, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilks went to Harrisonburg for a visit with the groom's parents.
Both couples will live in Lake Providence.
