Teaching Awards

Kent State University annually recognizes outstanding achievement in classroom teaching by offering two awards to faculty. Five faculty from the Department of Physics have been recipients of these awards.

Distinguished Teaching Award:

The Distinguished Teaching Awards, Kent's most prestigious honors for full-time faculty, are presented annually to three Kent State University faculty members who consistently exhibit extraordinary skills in classroom teaching. Former winners are no longer eligible. These awards are sponsored by the Kent Alumni Association.

Outstanding Teaching Award:

The Outstanding Teaching Awards, Kent's most prestigious honors for non-tenure-track faculty, are presented annually to three Kent State University term faculty members who consistently exhibit extraordinary skills in classroom teaching. Former winners are no longer eligible. These awards are sponsored by the University Teaching Council.
