I met Shelly at the Indiana University School of Journalism in 1997
after a difficult first lecture in Communications Law.
Realizing the potential difficulty of the class, Shelly immediately
started forming a study group. Several students were interested
but only Shelly and I attended. This was the beginning of a beautiful
study relationship that blossomed into a lasting friendship. From
that day forward, we scheduled difficult classes together and mastered
them together . We spent many Sundays studying and completing
assignments and many late nights cramming. I cannot imagine
my college life without her.
One of Shelly's best attributes is her ability to manage time! In pursuite of love, fame and fortune, she moved to Paris, France. Though she is surely the busiest person I know and there is an ocean between us, Shelly is still the friend I talk with most often. She never misses an opportunity to be my best of friends. |
To this day, I not only admire Shelly but I truly aspire to be more
like her. She is the bravest and most successful friend I have. She
is one of those rare individuals who is self-driven to demonstrate
high levels of both professional competence and the best personal
qualities. She is one of the Kindest, most generous and loving individuals I
have ever met. I am grateful that she has been such a supportive
friend to both Michael and myself. I love & miss her very much and
I'm thankful she is traveling from France to be part of our wedding.
Regrettfully, I have few photos of Shelly and I. We never took pictures of us studying together. However, this past Christmas, Shelly happened to be visiting her mother in Lawernceburg, IN. What a blessing it was to be served lunch in the middle of our seven hour journey to my hometown by not only Shelly and her charming Frenchman, Guillaume but also her wonderful mother. In minutes, Michael, George and I felt like part of the family. The above photo was taken right after lunch. ![]() Me & Shelly on the backyard swing, 1999. |
