*The death certificate of John Francis HAIRSTON's son, John Buchanan HAIRSTON (b. 20 APR 1857 - d. 23 NOV 1914), indicates that his mother's maiden name was Eliza CHRISTIAN (birthplace AL). Its informant was Arthur Lee HAIRSTON (b. 17 DEC 1871 - d. 5 JUL 1930), the only son of John Francis HAIRSTON and Rebecca HICKMAN, who married in Bradley Co., AR on 13 NOV 1866. It's possible that Arthur didn't know the true maiden name of his father's first wife, who died long before he was born.
