*The parentage of John PRINCE is not confirmed but is consistent with available information. Two of his known male descendants had several perfect 67-marker y-dna matches with known descendants of Daniel PRINCE (ca. 1818 - ca. 1795) of Union Co., SC. Family stories say that John PRINCE was orphaned and left home early, and that he had a brother and sister who he never saw again. The siblings were possibly Richard's children, William and Martha, who lived in Pickens Co., SC with their brother John (born between 1780 and 1790, per the 1790 census). Richard also had a son, Josiah, who was living in Tennessee by the 1830 census. Richard's son John was dismissed from the Friendship Baptist Church of Spartanburg, SC in Feb 1815. It is speculated that he was this John PRINCE who migrated to MS, and then to Jackson Parish, LA where he died in 1876.
