The SETVIEW code maintains a list of volumes which ``belong'' to the current view. Normally the list is cleared before each new view, but if CLEAR has been turned OFF (see OPTVIEW, section 2.7) the view list becomes the sum of successive set views. This list of volumes can be treated as an entity, by referring to it as a pseudovolume named LIST. The BUILD view mode can also be used to create a view which contains a partial set of volumes from a particular mother volume. This set can then be manipulated by using the volume name LIST (e.g., SETVIEW LIST PERS).
