*Records for Nancy's birthdate are inconsistent. She was listed as age 1 in the 1860 census, as age 9 in the 1870 census, and as age 20 in the 1880 census. In the 1900 census, her birthdate was given as APR 1855 and she was listed as age 45. In the 1910 census, she was listed as age 54 and in the 1920 census, she was listed as age 66. Her tombstone gives her year of birth as 1855.

**Egbert O. WALLER is presumed to be the son of Egbert Oswell WALLER (see Land Patent below). Several researcher lists Nancy WHITTINGTON's husband as the son of Egbert Oswell WALLER's brother, Green Bradford WALLER, because Green's son, Green B. WALLER, was listed as Egbert O. WALLER's brother in the 1880 census. However, this is likely an error, and Green B. should probably have been listed as a cousin. Neither the 1860 nor 1870 censuses show Egbert O. WALLER living in the household of Green Bradford WALLER, nor is there any indication from census records that the WALLER's were living in Mississippi before 1860.
